10 Years

Today, I'm celebrating 10 years of marriage with my husband. It feels like we're standing at a marker in this marathon called marriage. We have 10 years behind us and countless years set out ahead of us. It's been hard work. It's the kind of work that you're thrilled to show up for every day. It's the most rewarding work I've ever had and at the same time it's exhausting. The blessing is that we're running the same direction...we're running together.

I heard a quote once for Christian singles. It went something like this...
Run hard towards Christ. And while your running, if you see someone running the same direction, look twice.

I can't say that this was Rob and I. We were more like two individuals standing still. We had blank looks on our faces...we had no idea where to go. We both had accepted Jesus Christ as our Savior but we weren't running...we weren't seeking him. That's what's so beautiful about the last 10 years. We're running now...together, and we both know that it's only because of the grace of God. It's only by His grace that we are running at all and that we are running together.
